The end of the year is rapidly approaching. This is an exciting time for 8th grade students as they prepare to leave the middle school and begin the next stage of their educational journey. There will be several important events between now and the end of the school year. We will be providing additional information related to each event, but wanted to share the following information so that you can begin planning:
8th Grade Trip 9:15-12:45pm Friday 6/9. This year’s 8th grade trip will be to Urban Air Adventure & Trampoline Park in Bangor. Students will be bringing home field trip permission slips related to this trip.
8th Grade Dance 6:00-8:00pm Monday 6/12. The 8th grade dance will be held at the Edward K. Arey Community Center in North Bucksport. Admission is $5. Only 8th grade students currently enrolled in RSU 25 are able to attend the dance. We are looking for approximately 4-6 8th grade parents to help plan and chaperone the 8th grade dance along with BMS staff. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact me via email at

Celebration of Promotion 6:00pm Tuesday 6/13. This annual event honors 8th grade students as they complete their middle school education. Certificates of promotion will be presented to all students who have met the requirements for promotion to high school next year. Awards will be presented for academics, co-curricular, and extra-curricular achievement. In order to make sure that all families have an opportunity to see their child be promoted to high school, we will be using a ticket system for the Celebration of Promotion ceremony this year [please see the included flyer for ticket information]. 6/13 is also the last day of school for 8th graders.
Students must be in attendance during the school day in order to attend the dance and participate in promotion.
