BMS is very excited to announce that we will be able to offer an abbreviated fall sports season which follows the health and safety guidelines set forth by the Maine Department of Education as well as the Maine Principals Association. BMS will be offering the following sports this fall:

Cross Country [grades 5-8]
7-on-7 Flag Football [grades 7 & 8]
Golf [grades 5-8]
Soccer [grades 6-8]

Students will be able to sign up for fall sports in their homeroom classes starting Thursday, 9/17 and ending Monday, 9/21. Both in person and fully remote students can sign up for fall sports.

There will be a virtual preseason meeting for all interested students and parents on Monday, September 21st. The first practice/team meeting for girls soccer, flag football, and golf will start the week of September 21st. We are still looking for boys soccer and cross country coaches and practice will start as soon as possible once a coach is hired.

Please note that due to the safe return to play guidelines we are required to operate under, fall sports will look a little different this year, including:

compressed schedules, with fewer games played;

limited roster sizes due to restrictions on group sizes;

restrictions on the number of fans at home games.

Despite the challenges, we know the benefits that school athletics provide our students and are excited to be able to offer fall sports when it appeared for several weeks that we would not be able to offer any sports at all.
